Terms of use
Version of 17 October 2026
These terms govern the use of your account on Español con Nacho (espanolconnacho.com), a service provided by José Ignacio Fernández Otero. You can contact me at hola@espanolconnacho.com.
By creating your account, you accept these terms.
1. Your account
- You must be 14 years of age or older to create an account. If you’re under 14, you need the consent of your parent or legal guardian.
- The details you give when signing up (name and email) must be true, and you must use an email address you have access to.
- Your account is personal and non-transferable. You may not share it or let other people use it.
- You’re responsible for keeping your password secret. If you think someone has accessed your account, change your password from My account and let me know.
2. The content
- The videos and podcasts on the website are free.
- The full subtitles, translations and vocabulary cards are member content. You can access them while you have an active membership.
- You may use all the content for your personal learning.
- You may not download in an automated way, copy, publish, sell or distribute the website’s content, especially member content, or circumvent the measures that protect it.
All content (texts, videos, audio, subtitles, translations, vocabulary, images, logos and design) belongs to José Ignacio Fernández Otero or is used with permission, and is protected by intellectual property law.
3. Proper use
You agree to use the website in good faith and not to do anything that could damage it, overload it or harm other users (for example, trying to access other people’s accounts or member content without having access).
4. Comments and public profile
If you have an account with a confirmed email, you can comment on episodes. When you do:
- Your profile is public. Next to your comments and on your profile page, your name, your username (@username), your photo (if you’ve uploaded one), the date you created your account, whether you’re a member and since when, how long in total you have been a paid member, and your comments are shown. Your email is never shown.
- You’re responsible for what you write. Comment respectfully and about the episodes or learning Spanish.
- You may not: insult, harass or threaten anyone; post discriminatory, violent, sexual or illegal content; spam or advertise; impersonate other people; or post other people’s personal data.
- Reports: if you see a comment that breaks these rules, you can report it with the “Report” button. I’ll review reports and, where appropriate, remove the content.
- Moderation: I may delete comments that break these rules, prevent an account from posting comments or, in serious or repeated cases, close it.
- You can edit and delete your own comments at any time. Deleting your account also deletes all your comments.
- You authorise me to show your comments on the website for as long as you don’t delete them.
5. Suspension and closure of the account
- If you breach these terms (for example, by sharing your account, distributing member content or posting comments that break the rules), I may suspend or close your account, letting you know beforehand whenever possible.
- You can delete your account whenever you want from My account. If you have a Patreon membership, remember to cancel it there too.
6. Availability and liability
I try to keep the website running at all times and its content accurate, but there may be occasional interruptions or errors. Links to other sites (YouTube, Patreon, Instagram, Telegram…) are provided for reference, and those sites have their own terms.
7. Membership and purchases
Purchasing the membership and the classes is subject to their own terms (price, payment, renewal, cancellation and withdrawal), which you’ll accept at the time of purchase. The membership is managed and charged through Patreon.
8. Privacy
How I process your data is explained in the privacy policy.
9. Changes to these terms
If I change these terms, I’ll publish the new version on this page. If the change is significant, I’ll let you know and, where necessary, ask you to accept them again.
10. Applicable law
These terms are governed by Spanish law, without prejudice to the rights granted to you as a consumer by the law of your country of residence.
